The season has started for some schools with many having managed to fit in some pre-season cricket, though this seems to have been restricted to the South East and East Anglia in the main. Anywhere North and West of a line drawn between the Severn Estuary and the West appears to have been too wet so far for any cricket to take place. The forecast is better later in the week and hopefully some 1st round matches in the T20 can be played to get the competition under way.
Stowe entertained Charterhouse on Sunday with Stowe’s South African exchange student Daniel Bosman (97 balls) and Charterhouse’s Surrey star Luke Griffiths (133 balls) both recording centuries, while Archie Lazurus-Ingham took 5 wickets for the home side, who ran out winners by 69 runs in a high scoring game.

Over the course of the Winter, our website has been revamped and I would urge you to visit to see the new features that include a Fixture Bureau, a Situations Vacant section advertising cricketing roles in schools and a section on Mental Health featuring our new partner Opening Up Cricket.
Members of the Schools Cricket Committee have also been busy by contributing to ECB’s consultation on state school cricket. As we look to represent not only the interests of the independent sector but state schools and colleges where cricket is offered up to the age of 18, we feel we have much to offer this forum.
