Apologies for the lateness of the results this week, but having recovered from Covid and passing a Fit to Fly PCR test, I made it to Seoul sat my fourth attempt yesterday morning after a day and a half travelling.
Some exciting matches again this week have been reported, with the moist exciting possibly at Bromsgrove in their game v Shrewsbury, David Fallows, the Bromsgrove master i/c has sent me this account of the game.
Bromsgrove won the toss and got off to what was thought to be a good start, losing their first wicket at 41 off 8 overs. Oliver Davidson (64), Elliot Small (65) were the main stay of the Bromsgrove batting with late impetus from captain Tom Cosh with 41 off 25 balls. Wickets were shared out for Shrewsbury, Jack Home and Will Jenkins taking 2 apiece.
Jack Home and Harry Cooke got the home team off to a flyer in their pursuit of the 267 total, putting on 95 in quick time for the first wicket. Runs dried up a little with Freddie Fallows then taking 3 for 28 from his 10 overs with wickets falling. Rhys Lewis made a patient 86 not out in the chase which came down to the final over, 8 to win, Jack Warner the bowler who executed a fantastic over which saw the game end in a tie. 267-7 plays 267-7 in a Schoolboy game which had everything. Cricket was certainly the winner!
The various cup competitions are continuing with the group stages of the T20 have largely been completed and the regional winners beginning to emerge.
