Schools Cricket Online is partnered with Opening Up Cricket, a mental health charity who work with counties, clubs, universities and schools to deal with mental health issues.
Opening Up promotes mental wellbeing and suicide prevention through cricket. We believe that our sport can provide so much to foster positive mental health and want to start as many conversations as we can on this topic.
Reaching players at a young age is part of our mission and we welcome any opportunity to support schools cricket programmes by helping to embed a focus on mental wellbeing.
Opening Up have a range of options that can be utilised, from in person workshops to online sessions as well as a simple chat to swap ideas.
Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss further.
“Mark from Opening Up Cricket delivered an informative, interactive and engaging workshop to our Senior Cricketers at Queen Ethelburga’s in March. He covered a number of topics in relation to mental well-being and mental skills for cricket, including signposting students towards apps and support available. Our students particular enjoyed learning about different strategies to cope with setbacks, dealing with stress and pressure and how to support each other as teammates, referencing examples from within the professional game. I would highly recommend booking an Opening Up Cricket session as part of the holistic development of cricketers within a school cricket programme.”
