Since the introduction of boys at New Hall School the cricket has gone from strength to strength, with last summer seeing over 80 games of cricket being played from Years 7-13 boys and girls. We have five cricket squares and an outstanding new outdoor practice facility. In just its second campaign in the county cups the Under-12s won the competition progressing to the national knock-out in 2013, along with the Under-14s reaching the semi-final.
The cricket is blessed with a dedicated team of staff and cricket professional Nasser Hussain OBE, whose input and passion for the game has been infectious across all of the year-groups.
With a selection of boys also representing the county from Under-11 to Under-15 level a very solid platform is being built for future success. The ‘cricket academy? from the school (a selection of 25 boys and girls across all year groups, identified as talented individuals receive individual coaching throughout all three terms along with a training programme) went on their first overseas tour in 2011 (pre-season) to Abu Dhabi and Dubai taking on the leading schools and club sides from the Middle East where the all five games. The next tour will see them visit Sri Lanka in Easter 2013.
